Construction document assistant
Query contracts, specs, manuals and drawings. Finds the answer with its document, page and version — and when evidence is insufficient, it says so.

What it is
A construction document assistant is a search tool that understands the question and answers over YOUR documentation —contracts, specs, tender documents, manuals and drawings— citing the document, page and version each fact comes from. When the documentation does not support an answer, it says so, instead of inventing a plausible one.
Who it's for
Site managers, technical office, procurement and project supervision who lose hours hunting for a clause, a dimension or a specification across hundreds of PDFs.
The problem
The answer exists, but it is on page 47 of revision C of the spec, not the B that someone has open. Searching by hand is slow and risky: decisions get made on the wrong version.
How it works
The process, step by step.
- 01
Document
Your documents are loaded with their version and permissions. They do not leave where we agree to host them.
- 02
Extraction
The system splits the text by page and section, and records where each fragment comes from.
- 03
Cited answer
For a question, it returns the answer with the document, page and version; if there is no evidence, it acknowledges it.
- 04
Review
The person opens the cited source in one click and decides. The assistant surfaces the fact; it does not sign for you.
What you get
The delivered result.
Answers with their source: document, page and version, openable in one click.
An honest “insufficient evidence” when the documentation does not answer.
A warning when two versions contradict each other, instead of silently picking one.
Permissions by project and role: each person sees only what is theirs.
What it needs
- Your project documents (PDF, Word, spreadsheets), with their versions.
- Who may see what: permissions by project, folder or role.
- Which edition prevails when two documents contradict each other.
A concrete example
“What concrete strength does the spec require for the foundation?” → “C30/37, technical specification, p. 47, revision C (12/09/2026).” And if you ask for something absent: “Insufficient evidence in the loaded documents.”
What a person reviews
Always a person. The assistant does not approve contractual changes or make site decisions: it surfaces the fact with its source so a technician decides.
Possible integrations
Possibilities subject to assessment until verified.
- · Your document manager or project folder (SharePoint, Drive, your own server).
- · Hosting in the EU or wherever the project requires (assessed per rollout).
Limits and conditions
- · It answers over the documentation you give it; it is not an oracle of general regulation.
- · Answer quality depends on documents being complete and versioned.
- · Today it is an implementation and development service over a real AI engine, not an off-the-shelf product.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does it make up answers?
It must not. The system answers only with what it finds in your documents and attaches the document, page and version. When there is not enough basis, it returns “insufficient evidence” instead of filling the gap. Before using it with real documents we test exactly that case: that it recognises what it does not know.
Do my documents leave my company or train someone else's model?
It is defined before loading anything: where they are hosted, who accesses them, how long they are kept and whether they are excluded from training. We do not upload client documents to external services without your authorisation. We agree it per rollout and put it in writing.
What formats does it accept?
PDF (native or scanned with OCR), Word and spreadsheets. With their versions: the system tells revision B from C and cites the right one.
How does a project start?
With a scoped diagnosis: one type of document and one specific project. We set up a measurable pilot with your real data, check that it cites correctly and recognises what it does not know, and decide the scope from there. We do not promise savings without that pilot in front of us.
Let's start with one process and one site.
