What it is

Automated lockers that run on their own, 24/7

Scan and Buy's smart lockers are connected units that let people pick up or drop off products, parcels and luggage without staff, 24 hours a day. Users open the compartment in about 5 seconds with a QR code and pay contactless with card or digital wallet, while you control each locker's inventory in real time from the cloud panel.

They integrate with your existing infrastructure —often without changing hardware, just activating the software— and adapt to hotels, offices, airports and shopping centers for click & collect, luggage storage or corporate materials delivery. Less staff, more availability and full traceability of every access.

By sector

The cabinet is the same. The problem is not.

Nobody buys a locker because they want a locker. It is bought to stop having someone watching luggage at reception, or to stop signing for employees' parcels. Each sector arrives with a different question.

Hotels

The dead hours between check-out and the flight

The guest leaves the room at eleven and their flight departs at nine at night. Those ten hours are handled today by reception piling cases in a back room, with no record of who left what and somebody keeping an eye on it. With lockers, the guest stores and collects with a code, and every opening is logged with its time. Integrating with the PMS so the code expires with the booking is built to order: it is software, not an accessory that comes in the box.

Offices

Who signs for two hundred employees' parcels

In a mid-sized office, reception ends up as a personal parcel warehouse, and someone spends a real part of their day notifying and handing over. Lockers cut that: the courier deposits, the employee is notified and collects when they can. The question the facilities manager always asks is not how many compartments it has, but whether it integrates with their access control — and that is a bespoke integration to be assessed case by case, not a catalogue «yes».

Stations and airports

Left luggage that charges itself and never closes

A staffed left-luggage office has opening hours, and the hours are precisely the problem: the traveller arrives when they arrive. Here lockers replace a counter with a person behind it, charge by time without cash and log every operation. What has to be decided before installing is the abandonment policy: what happens when someone does not come back, after how long, and who removes it.

Retail and click & collect

Collecting when the shop is closed

In-store collection has an obvious limit: the shop closes. A locker on the shopfront or in the lobby turns the order into something collected at eleven at night, which is when a lot of people can. And for the shop it means no longer having someone hunting for bags behind the counter every time a customer comes in to collect.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is a locker opened?

With a QR code from the app: the compartment opens in about 5 seconds, contactless and without physical keys.

Do I have to replace my current lockers?

Not necessarily. They are compatible with many existing systems; in most cases you just activate the software, with no construction or hardware change.

Where can they be installed?

In hotels, offices, airports, shopping centers and any space that needs 24/7 delivery or pickup.

How are pickups paid for?

Contactless, with card or digital wallet. No cash, and with a record of every operation.

Can I control locker status remotely?

Yes. You manage each locker's inventory and access history in real time from the cloud panel, on any device.

Does it integrate with my hotel PMS or my access control?

It is built to order, and it is better to say so plainly than to give a catalogue «yes». We are a software house: the integration is built against the specific system you have, which is why the first thing we ask is what it is and whether it exposes an API. Without that answer, any quote is made up.

What happens if someone never collects what they left?

That is the decision to take before installing, not after. You configure how long the compartment stays occupied, whether a warning is sent before it expires, whether extra time is charged and who is authorised to open it to empty it. Every emptying is logged like any other opening.

How many lockers do I need?

It depends on the peak, not the average. In a hotel the peak is check-out morning; in an office, the mid-afternoon courier round. Sizing by the daily average is the usual mistake: the day there is no free compartment, people stop using the system and go back to reception.

Who owns the hardware?

You do. We do not sell a subscription tied to a cabinet of ours: in many cases we use the one you already have by activating the software on top. If hardware has to be bought, it is bought and it belongs to the client.

Shall we install lockers in your business?

We advise you on the ideal model for your space. No commitment.
